It has been a busy week in the interest rate world, with Nat West, Nottingham, Leeds, Furness, Bank of Ireland, Foundation, Vernon, Hinkley and Masthaven all announcing changes.

In criteria news, Vernon Amend their visa and settled status rules.

Bank of Ireland tighten rules for leasehold property with escalating ground rents.

Harpenden makes changes impacting self employed borrowers who have accessed the Government Pandemic assistance (BBL and SEISS)

Skipton make a change to the minimum length of lease for leasehold property.

 

In wider news, in a sign of the strength of the mortgage market, Belmont Green prices and places a £300m securitisation deal.

House prices grew by 10% to £254,624 in the year to May, up from 9.6% the previous month, according to the Office for National Statistics and Land Registry index. Month-on-month growth also increased to 0.9%, from 0.5% April. Rises were steepest in the North-West, where they climbed 15.2% to £189,245.  The lowest annual growth was in London, where prices increased by 5.2% to £497,948.

 

In Insurance news, Legal & General announced two new major additions within their new Umbrella Benefits – Fracture Cover and Private Diagnostics Cover.

Fracture Cover provides short term, financial support as a result of suffering a specified injury like fracturing bones to dislocating joints or rupturing tendons to tearing ligaments.  

Private Diagnostics gives customers affordable & quick access to UK based specialist consultant who will help diagnose, support and guide people suffering from serious illness.
